It takes more than a couple of people

The club is solely a volunteer group that relies on parent and staff volunteers. Though attending the monthly meeting is not required, decisions that currently are being made are those solely of the officers and a select 2 to 3 other people only. These consistant few all work full time jobs, have family responsibilities and want to see the strengthening of the Nashua South Panther school spirit. When very few attend, this limits the input and ideas generated. The meetings generally last 1 to 1 1/4 hour depending on what is upcoming or what we are trying to plan.
We would like to ask those who wish to work with us to attend meetings periodically if possible. With a limited number of people we limit what we can do to benefit the athletes and promote school spirit. When the number of volunteers gets too low, the Boosters will cut-back on or cease to do fundraising and could ultimately cease...... to exist. We have already stopped manning the Concession Stand during basketball.
Spring is historically a quieter time for us as we do not have the volunteers to attend events due to the starting time of the spring events. It is however a busy time administratively as we start planning for the August Freshman and Sophomore bus pass/School ID days as well as our main fundraiser, The Dance in October.
The more volunteers we have the less time is required at sporting events such as football, basketball, hockey, etc to sell 50/50 tickets or sell merchandise. The more people that can attend meetings, the more ideas that are broght forward, the more fundraising that can be accomplished, and the more scholarships we can award.
We're trying to promote school spirit and like Telegraph Sports reporter Gary Fitz stated in the paper: Panther Pride...just a matter of figuring out exactly where it is hiding.
The Boosters Web Site Administrator is not sent information from coaches for posting. All information is obtained via the Nashua Telegraph or the A.D.'s office when necessary, and occasionally word-of-mouth. If parents of athletes possess information that would be beneficial for others to know, please feel free to e-mail us via the "Contact Us" menu item. The information will be posted and removed as necessary. It will be posted under the Menu Heading of " Parents Corner", currently hidden - no input.
We will be looking to fill the Secretary's position this spring. Taking and compiling the meeting minutes, checking the P.O box, setting up agenda and sending out the meeting notice constitutes most of the duties. Consider working with Sandy, Tom, Doreen and Terry. E-mail us if interested.
